“The project goal was to develop an e-learning programme that complemented the face-to-face training for over 4,000 All Stars Cricket Activators, which was aimed at getting Activators ready to deliver fantastic first cricketing experiences for children across England and Wales. Dynamic has taken our brief and our All Stars Cricket philosophy and turned it into a fantastic engaging e-learning experience for Activators.”

The solution - Part 1.

e-learning modules

We created four (SCORM compliant) bite-size e-learning modules to help people prepare for their role as an All Stars Cricket Activator. We ensured that the content was fun and engaging using animated characters, media-rich interactions and real person video.

Module one gave Activators a good understanding of what All Stars Cricket is and the philosophy behind it.

The solution - Part 2.

interactive map

Activators accessed the bite-size modules through the highly visual and interactive ‘cricket town’ map, which was developed using the latest Google Maps functionality that most people are familiar with and a unique isometric design.

The course was available in an interactive view, or for those who preferred it, they could switch to a list view. Whichever view Activators selected, they finished with an understanding of the All Stars Cricket programme, their role and the essential information they needed to be able to run a world-class programme.

The content was factual and informative and helped set the scene for the face-to-face training by providing the philosophy and basis for Cricket Unleashed and All Stars Cricket.

The results.

The success criteria for this project was linked to the overall rating given to Activators by parents and children and the feedback from Activators regarding the quality of the training they received.

This training solution (the e-learning and the face-to-face training combined) was deemed a success.

The All Stars Cricket programme received a Net Promoter Score of 80 out of 100.

71% of Activators rated the e-learning as useful or better.

Over 4,000 Activators were trained and ready to start rolling out the All Stars Cricket programme through their clubs from May 2017. The project allowed the ECB to impart onto Activators some of the key knowledge required to be a fantastic All Stars Cricket Activator.

This successful training solution will form the basis of pre-learning for every All Stars Cricket Activator moving forward. It is expected that more than 4,000 people will continue to undergo this training each year. The insights provided by Activators, parents and the children that have taken part in All Stars Cricket will be used to ensure that next year’s programme is enhanced.

“Working with Dynamic has been a fantastic experience. Particular thanks go to the Project Manager, David Pryde. We were under a very tight timeframe and certainly put the Dynamic team under pressure, but they always pressed on and did the best possible job. They took our brief and turned it into something much bigger than we thought it could be. This has allowed us to train a brand-new team of volunteers (in excess of 4,000 people) with the experience the ECB are looking to create through All Stars Cricket – a fun, safe and fantastic first experience for kids in cricket across the country.”
