Activator elearning
Working in collaboration with the England and Wales County Cricket Board (ECB), Dynamic developed a unique online learning experience for over 4,000 All Stars Cricket Activators.
Introduction
The All Stars Cricket Activator’s role is to inspire the next generation of cricketers and create big moments that will last them a lifetime. Our challenge was to help prepare Activators for their role, enabling them to be the best they can be and go on to give thousands of kids an amazing first experience of the great game.
The solution - Part 1. elearning modules
We created four (SCORM compliant) bite-size elearning modules to help people prepare for their role as an All Stars Cricket Activator. We ensured that the content was fun and engaging using animated characters, media-rich interactions and live video.

"The project goal was to develop an elearning programme that complemented the face-to-face training for over 4,000 All Stars Cricket Activators, which was aimed at getting Activators ready to deliver fantastic first cricketing experiences for children across England and Wales. Dynamic has taken our brief and our All Stars Cricket philosophy and turned it into a fantastic engaging e-learning experience for Activators."
The solution - Part 2. interactive map
Activators accessed the bite-size modules through the highly visual and interactive ‘cricket town’ map, which was developed using the latest Google Maps functionality and a unique isometric design.
The course was available in an interactive view, or those who preferred it could switch to a list view. Whichever view Activators selected, they finished with an understanding of the All Stars Cricket programme, their role within it and the essential information they needed to be able to run a world-class programme.
The content was factual and informative and helped set the scene for the face-to-face training by providing the philosophy of and basis for Cricket Unleashed and All Stars Cricket.
The results
The success criteria for this project was linked to the overall rating given to Activators by parents and children and the feedback from Activators regarding the quality of the training they received.
This training solution (the elearning and the face-to-face training combined) was deemed a success.
The All Stars Cricket programme received a Net Promoter Score of 80 out of 100.
71% of Activators rated the elearning as useful or better.
Over 4,000 Activators were trained and ready to start rolling out the All Stars Cricket programme through their clubs from May 2017. The project allowed the ECB to impart to Activators, some of the key knowledge they required to be a fantastic All Stars Cricket Activator.
This successful training solution will form the basis of pre-learning for every All Stars Cricket Activator, moving forward. It is expected that more than 4,000 people will continue to undergo this training each year. The insights provided by Activators, parents and the children that have taken part in All Stars Cricket will be used to ensure that next year’s programme is enhanced.
